Garbage Disposal for homes and businesses

A disposal that hums but won't spin, leaks under the sink, or keeps tripping its reset button is one of the most common kitchen problems. Sometimes it's a simple jam. Sometimes the unit is worn out and replacement is the better fix. Either way, you'll know which before any work starts.

What's included

  • Units that won't start checked and reset

Questions about garbage disposal

My disposal hums but doesn't spin. Is it broken?

Usually it's jammed. Most disposals can be freed by turning the hex socket on the bottom of the unit, then pressing the red reset button. If it jams again soon, or the motor won't turn even when it's free, replacement makes more sense.

Should I repair or replace a leaking disposal?

It depends where it leaks. A leak at the sink flange or a hose connection can usually be resealed. A leak from the body of the unit means its internal seals have failed, and the disposal needs to be replaced.
